Voices, Venues, and Vitality

VOCE NWA is a young organization with a growing vision and audience. Each concert teaches us more about who we are becoming. As we reflect on our recent Hispanic Heritage Concert, three themes rise to the surface, Voices, Venues, and Vitality. These “3 Vs” will continue to shape the way we plan and promote concerts going forward.

Voices

Voices are at the heart of VOCE. Our name itself stands for “Voices of the Ozarks: Concerts and Events.” We believe in the power of the human voice to satisfy our longing for beauty, foster authentic connection and create meaningful experiences. We believe in the power of the human voice to create beauty, connection, and meaning. Our inaugural concert highlighted this beautifully: Juan Garcia stunned with his powerful ballads, Mariachi Joya Azteca serenaded us with their beautiful instruments and voices, Fidelma Farinas-Cobas brought fiery passion in her portrayal of Cecilia Valdés, Maria Lopez moved us with the sorrow of Marqués, and Raquel King soared in Villa-Lobos’ Bachianas. The audience responded with warmth and enthusiasm, confirming that voices truly are our foundation.

Venues

Beautiful voices flourish in architecturally interesting and acoustically friendly spaces. Northwest Arkansas has no shortage of these architectural gems thanks to the influence of architects like E Faye Jones and the financial backing of organizations like the Walton Family Foundation. Chamber music finds its soul in beautiful chambers. Chapel on the Creeks, with its mission-style beauty and intimate acoustics, proved the perfect home for this celebration.

Founder Raquel King welcomed community members to the Chapel on the Creeks, the wonderful mission-style chapel that was the venue for our recent Hispanic Heritage Concert.

Vitality

At VOCE, music stays at the center, but concerts are more than performances; they are experiences. Experiences are what help us escape our ordinary routines and meet new people. The taco tent and live student performances before the concert created a festive atmosphere where friendships grew and new connections began. That vitality is part of who we are. If you are longing for beauty, community, and meaningful experiences, we invite you to join us for one of our upcoming events.

Preconcert festivities included a taco tent and live music in front of the Chapel on the Creeks where community members could make new connections and renew old friendships.

The Hispanic Heritage Concert reminded us of the 3 Vs; Voices, Venues, and Vitality. As VOCE NWA continues to grow, these will guide our path, ensuring each concert is more than an event: it’s an experience to remember.
